Hamilton Princess & Beach Club Bermuda

 Hamilton Princess & Beach Club

Carol & I were lucky enough to be invited down to Bermuda by The Hamilton Princess to experience everything that Bermuda has to offer. Honestly, we couldn’t believe that this was our life & that we were going to Bermuda because of our blog. It was a big moment for us & we are so excited to tell y’all about our time in Bermuda. Here is a breakdown our of stay!

The Hotel

Located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, this gorgeous hotel, known as the “Pink Palace”, is situated on the beautiful Princess Marina & only minutes from downtown. We just about died when we pulled up to the hotel, so perfectly pink with huge palms everywhere! Talk about pink + palm DREAMS!

Walking into the lobby, we immediately noticed all the amazing art they had showcased. Little did we know, they have an extensive art collection scattered throughout the entire hotel. They have pieces from artists like KAW, Banksy, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons & so many more!

The first day, we spent our afternoon exploring the hotel, & relaxing by their 2 pools. One of the pools is located outside of the spa/gym & was perfect for lounging & swimming a few laps. The spa pool is also over 18 only, so if you want some real r&r this is your pool!  The other pool is an infinity pool that overlooks the marina. They have chairs in the water that are perfect for catching some rays or even watching the sunset. Truth be told, we could have spent our entire trip just sitting by the pool drinking pina coladas, ha! So relaxing!!

One part of our stay we really enjoyed was being apart of the Fairmont gold status. If it’s in your budget we would totally recommend upgrading to the Gold Room status which includes breakfast every morning, snacks throughout the day, happy hour with little nibbles, & all the coffee/tea you can drink. We took full advantage of this & stopped by the gold room multiple times throughout the day, mainly for coffee breaks, ha!

The Beach Club

Our second day in Bermuda, we decided to take advantage of the perfect weather & head to the beach. What we loved about our hotel is that although it wasn’t located on the beach, they offered a free shuttle to their gorgeous & secluded beach club about 15 minutes away. Y’all should have seen our reactions as we were driving down to the beach club. We were freaking out over the bright blue water & incredible scenery. The beach club had everything we needed for the ultimate beach day. They had paddle boards, kayaks, floaties, beach chairs, towels, HAMMOCKS IN THE WATER, & even beachside service from their restaurant on site.

Food & Drinks

Where do we begin with the food? We ate at the hotel the entire time we were there & everything was awesome! Here is a little breakdown of the restaurants & what we loved about them.

Marcus: this gorgeous & modern restaurant run & owned by acclaimed Chef Marcus Samuelsson (you may know him from Food Network show, Chopped) serves up the best of Bermuda. This may have been one of our favorite meals of the trip, not only because of the incredible hospitality from our Server, Aris, but because we felt like we were getting a taste of the Bermuda culture in our meals. Whatever you do, order the cornbread medallions. Our mouth is watering just thinking about it!

1609:  this is an open-air dining experience that overlooks the marina & open water. A more casual dining experience with amazing fresh food &  fun drinks. If y’all want the most delicious drink ever, get the hand shaken colada! Definitely plan a dinner here to watch the sunset over the water!!

Crown & Anchor: this spot offers everything from breakfast-dinner, to drinks & apps at the bar. We loved this spot not only for the delicious food but for the fun entertainment they had. Saturday night they had live music with the best band & Sunday night they had a trivia night. We loved that we didn’t have to leave our hotel to have a little nightlife!

^Outdoor seating in the gold room during breakfast!

Recommendations:

Head to Horseshoe Bay & take the 1-mile walk down the beach. On the walk, you will find so many hidden coves & incredible beaches. We suggest getting up early & getting there as early as you can. We got to the beach around 930-10 am & basically had the entire beach to ourselves. Bermuda has some of the most beautiful beaches & water we have ever seen. The pictures don’t even do it justice!

Local recommendations:

  • Horse Shoe Bay
  • Warwick Bay
  • Chaplin Bay
  • Jobson’s Cove
  • Elbow Beach
